Business Process Analysis and Reengineering

Business process reengineering is one approach for redesigning the way work is done to better support the organization's mission statement and reduce costs. Business Process Engineering starts with a high-level assessment of the organization's mission, strategic goals, and customer needs. Basic questions are asked, such as "Does our mission need to be redefined? Are our strategic goals aligned with our mission? Who are our customers?" An organization may find that it is operating on questionable assumptions, particularly in terms of the wants and needs of its customers. MCGi helps companies with an in-depth business processes analysis and helps them reengineer their processes for effectiveness and efficiency while striving for innovation, flexibility and integration with technology.

There are two types of services that MCGi provides:

  • FREE high level Business Process Analysis -- Help determine any process changes or IT applications can help save operational cost and improve efficiency
  • In-depth Business Process Analysis and Management recommendations using BPM tools

Our process based and metrics-driven methodologies ensure a high degree of transparency. Our onsite presence and ongoing soft skills training programs serve to minimize communication gaps and cultural differences.

Process Analysis

Business Process Analysis starts with understanding activities, their relationships and value of relevant metrics. Some of the tasks involved are as follows:

  • Define the process boundaries that mark the entry points of the process inputs and the exit points of the process outputs.
  • Construct a process flow diagram that illustrates the various process activities and their relationships.
  • Determine the capacity of the each step.
  • Identify the bottleneck, i.e., the step having lowest capacity.
  • Quantify the impact of the bottleneck
  • Identify any operating decisions that can improve the process.

Business Process Reengineering (Design and Modeling)

Within the framework of this basic assessment of mission and goals, business process reengineering focuses on the organization's business process analysis--the steps and procedures that govern how resources are used to create products and services that meet the needs of particular customers or markets. As a structured ordering of work steps across time and place, a business process can be decomposed into specific activities, measured, modeled, and improved. It can also be completely redesigned or eliminated altogether. Business Process Reengineering identifies, analyzes, and redesigns an organization's core business processes with the aim of achieving dramatic improvements in critical performance measures, such as cost, quality, service, and speed.

Execution

Based on the Business Process Reengineering design model we execute the actions, make the necessary process changes, and develop new applications to automate functions or activities. MCGi offers highly cost-effective IT solutions that are identified during the reengineering phase. We have also developed sound reporting mechanisms to monitor and measure the effectiveness of the reengineered process. Metrics collection is one of the most important steps during the execution phase.

Continuous Optimization

Metrics collected during execution phase are used to continuously analyze the processes and optimize the business process analysis for more efficient output.
